Pakistan’s Test opener Abdullah Shafique has said that the Rawalpindi Test pitch is not much different from the one used in Lahore.Speaking to the media at the end of the first day’s play, Abdullah said that the outfield in Rawalpindi is slower compared to Lahore.

He added that dropped catches are part of the game, and that spin-friendly pitches are always a challenge for batters, but he has worked hard in the nets to prepare for them.

The opener further mentioned that the more you bat, the better you understand the pitch, and he often discusses cricket with senior players whenever he gets the chance.Abdullah also said that even after winning matches, the team management and players discuss their shortcomings, and that the team has been fortunate with the toss in both Test matches.

He revealed that during his poor run of form, he spoke with Shan Masood and Babar Azam, both of whom gave him valuable tips during the training camp.
