There is a strong possibility of fast bowler Salman Mirza joining the team along with opener Fakhar Zaman in the tri-nation series and Asia Cup, but Shadab Khan’s name is not being considered. The announcement of potential players is planned for next week and the camp will be held in Lahore, however, the final decision will be made in consultation with the selectors, head coach and captain Salman Agha upon their return from the West Indies.

According to sources, left-handed opener Fakhar Zaman, who is suffering from a hamstring injury, will report to the National Cricket Academy in one or two days, where the PCB medical panel will examine his injury.According to reports, Fakhar Zaman’s injury is not a major concern, and the opener is hopeful that he will get rid of his fitness issues with regular rehab. The selectors are also confident that Fakhar Zaman will be available for the tri-nation series and the Asia Cup. It depends on his medical reports, if the medical panel gives permission, then Fakhar Zaman can definitely be included in the squad. To further strengthen the bowling department, the selectors are in favor of including Salman Mirza in the squad, so his name has been withdrawn from the squad going to Darwin, Australia. After the PSL, Salman Mirza has given an impressive performance in the series against Bangladesh. Sixteen players can be selected for the tri-nation ODI series and the Asia Cup.The Pakistan, Afghanistan and UAE series will be held in Sharjah from August 29, with a training camp expected to begin on August 20.
