South African wicketkeeper-batsman Heinrich Klaasen has announced his retirement from all forms of international cricket. Having already retired from Test matches in January 2024, Klaasen stated that the decision was difficult but necessary to focus fully on T20 leagues worldwide. He played 4 Tests, 60 ODIs, and 58 T20Is for South Africa, scoring 4 centuries and 11 fifties in ODIs, along with 5 half-centuries in T20Is. His retirement was anticipated after being left out of Cricket South Africa’s central contracts list in April.

Meanwhile, Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell has announced his retirement from One Day Internationals. Maxwell, a key figure in Australia’s white-ball cricket, made the decision to prioritize T20 cricket and manage his workload better. He will, however, continue to be available for T20 Internationals and franchise leagues around the globe.
