Renowned Indian sports journalist Vikrant Gupta has praised Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Mohsin Naqvi.

While discussing the controversy that arose after Bangladesh refused to travel to India for the T20 World Cup, Vikrant Gupta spoke positively about Mohsin Naqvi on Indian media. He said that for the first time, someone from the PCB has come forward who says they are ready to stand eye to eye and fight it out, adding that one must admit the man is not scared at all.

Vikrant Gupta stated that Mohsin Naqvi is strongly supporting Bangladesh’s decision not to send its team to India for the T20 World Cup, and has even stopped Pakistani players from preparing for the tournament.

Comparing the Indian cricket board with the PCB, he said that on the other side, their officials show up to watch matches wearing ties and are only interested in watching the game.

The Indian journalist further questioned what BCCI officials are actually doing, saying that players are told not to shake hands or hug, yet business continues as usual.

He added that BCCI officials make big statements about taking strong action, but nothing actually happens, and sometimes he is surprised at how much humiliation one can tolerate without stepping back for a while.

Vikrant Gupta concluded by saying that apart from making big claims, nothing is being done, and this approach will not solve the issues.
