Pakistani fast bowler Haris Rauf has supported the ICC’s suggestion to use just one ball in One Day Internationals (ODIs) after the 25th over, calling it a “lifeline” for bowlers. He said this change could give fast bowlers a fair chance in a game that now heavily favors batsmen. While talking to a local news channel, Haris explained that the modern white ball doesn’t get old enough during the match to help bowlers, which is why batters easily aim for scores over 400.

He believes that if the ball is allowed to age naturally after 25 overs, it could bring back reverse swing — a skill that has almost disappeared from ODIs. Haris added that if the ICC goes ahead with this plan, it would be a positive step for fast bowlers. He also addressed the criticism that Pakistan’s bowlers often face and reminded people that short boundaries and high scoring matches are a global issue, not just Pakistan’s problem.
