While Virat Kohli finally clinched his first IPL title after 18 long years with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Pakistan’s Babar Azam reached similar glory much earlier in his league career. In the IPL 2025 final, RCB defeated Punjab Kings by 6 runs to secure their maiden title since the tournament began in 2008. Kohli, who has been with RCB for all 18 seasons, was visibly emotional after the long-awaited win.

In contrast, Babar won the PSL title early in his career. He was part of Islamabad United in the inaugural season and later played a key role in Karachi Kings’ 2020 PSL triumph. That season, Babar was the top scorer with 473 runs, earned Player of the Tournament honors, and was named Man of the Match in the final.

Despite constant comparisons, Babar Azam attained league success much faster than Indian legend Virat Kohli.
