Rashid Khan and Azmatullah Omarzai have withdrawn from MLC 2025, opting to take a break from cricket. Rashid, who played a key role for MI New York last season with 10 wickets at an impressive 6.15 average, won’t feature this year. Both Rashid and Omarzai last appeared in the IPL 2025 for Gujarat Titans and Punjab Kings, respectively.

Meanwhile, Naveen-ul-Haq, Noor Ahmad, and Waqar Salamkheil have joined their MLC teams ahead of the tournament, which starts June 12. Gulbadin Naib and Fazalhaq Farooqi (Seattle Orcas) are still waiting for U.S. visas.

The uncertainty stems from a recent U.S. travel ban affecting Afghan nationals, though exemptions exist for major sports events. Organisers remain hopeful all Afghan players will participate. The opening match will see Washington Freedom face San Francisco at the Oakland Coliseum.
