SHARJAH: Pakistan’s white-ball head coach, Mike Hesson, expressed solidarity with the flood-affected people of Pakistan after his side registered back-to-back victories in the UAE T20I triangular series.
Taking to social media platform X, Hesson dedicated the wins to those enduring hardships due to the devastating floods, offering prayers for their safety and strength.
Pakistan began their campaign on a strong note with a 39-run triumph over Afghanistan, powered by a disciplined all-round display. The Men in Green then carried the momentum into their second outing, defeating hosts UAE by 31 runs.
Young openers Saim Ayub and Hassan Nawaz shone with the bat, hammering quickfire half-centuries to propel Pakistan to an imposing 207-run total. Despite a late counterattack from UAE’s Asia Khan, who struck a blistering 77 off 35 balls, the chase fell short. Hasan Ali led Pakistan’s bowling charge with three wickets, while Mohammad Nawaz bowled a tight four-over spell, claiming two scalps.
Following the match, Hesson posted: “These consecutive victories are dedicated to everyone impacted by the floods in Pakistan. We are praying for the safety and resilience of all those affected back home.”

Pakistan will next face Afghanistan on Tuesday, September 2, before taking on UAE again on September 4. The triangular series is being viewed as a vital preparation phase for the upcoming ACC Men’s T20 Asia Cup, scheduled in the UAE from September 9 to 28.
