Pathum Nissanka’s blazing second consecutive half-century powered the Gulf Giants to a smooth four-wicket win against Dubai Capitals in the ILT20. His sixty-seven off thirty-one balls, filled with clean hitting, combined with James Vince’s steady unbeaten fifty to chase one sixty-one with confidence. The pair added a vital ninety-seven–run stand that pushed the Giants to the top of the table.
Earlier, Azmatullah Omarzai impressed with three wickets to keep the Capitals to a competitive total despite Dasun Shanaka’s late hitting. The Capitals had brief partnerships, but regular strikes slowed their progress.
In reply, the Giants started strongly despite an early setback. Nissanka dominated the powerplay with multiple boundaries and sixes, reaching a rapid half-century. Although Dubai picked up wickets in the middle overs, contributions from Omarzai and Tom Moores ensured stability. Vince completed a composed fifty and finished the chase in the nineteenth over.
