Pakistan has secured direct qualification for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2028.
According to a statement from the International Cricket Council, the eight teams that reached the Super Eight stage of the 2026 mega event have automatically qualified for the next T20 World Cup.The 2028 World Cup will be co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand. Although Australia was eliminated in the early stage this time, it qualified as a host nation.
The ICC announcement confirmed that Pakistan, India, England, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, South Africa, and West Indies have all qualified directly.The statement also noted that by March 9, the next three best teams in the ICC T20 rankings will gain direct qualification. These teams include Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Ireland.
According to the ICC, the 2028 T20 World Cup will feature 20 teams, while the remaining eight spots will be decided through regional qualifiers.
