The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to stop sending teams to the World Championship of Legends (WCL) after the 2025 edition due to unfair treatment and political bias by the event organizers. The decision was made during the PCB’s 79th Board of Governors meeting, held online with chairman Mohsin Naqvi.

The PCB was unhappy that India Champions refused to play against Pakistan Champions, skipping both a league game and the semi-final, yet were still awarded a point in the group stage. Pakistan advanced to the final through a walkover. The PCB said sports should stay separate from politics and criticized WCL’s press release as biased and unfair.
They added that the apology from WCL seemed forced and influenced by nationalistic pressure.
As a result, the PCB confirmed it will not join future WCL events that mix sports with politics.
