The International Cricket Council has announced that the T20 World Cup will proceed as per the original schedule, and Bangladesh’s matches will be played in India.
In an ICC statement, it was said that the decision was made after a security assessment, which found no threat to Bangladeshi players, media personnel, officials, or fans at any venue in India.
Board members stated that changing the schedule so close to the tournament is not feasible.
It may be recalled that Bangladesh had refused to send its team to India for the T20 World Cup after receiving threats from extremists and following the exclusion of fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman from the IPL. Bangladesh had demanded that its matches be shifted to another country.
