According to sources, the PCB had earlier announced that it would manage Multan Sultans itself in PSL 11. However, in a new development, the board has now opted to sell the franchise.Sources revealed that the auction of two new PSL teams exceeded PCB expectations. Due to the strong prices received for the two new franchises, the decision has now been taken to put Multan Sultans up for auction too.
Sources further said that the PCB believes this is the best possible time to sell Multan Sultans. The franchise will be offered through open bidding. An advertisement will be issued soon, and after reviewing all legal aspects, a formal announcement will be made.According to insiders, following the record-breaking sale of two franchises and growing interest from foreign investors, several parties have shown interest in acquiring Multan Sultans. As a result, the PCB is optimistic about selling the franchise at a strong price.
It is worth noting that in the recent auction, the PCB sold two new PSL teams. In PSL 11, there will be eight teams, including the newly added Hyderabad and Sialkot franchises.
