Afghanistan Handed Major Blow as Naveen ul Haq Ruled Out of T20 World Cup Due to Injury

Afghanistan suffer a major setback as a key player is ruled out of the T20 World Cup due to injury. Afghanistan cricket team’s important fast bowler Naveen ul Haq has been ruled out of the T20 World Cup starting next month because of an injury.

According to the cricket website Cricinfo, Afghan fast bowler Naveen ul Haq will miss the three match T20 series against the West Indies scheduled for next week as well as the T20 World Cup.The website reported that Naveen ul Haq is expected to undergo surgery later this month.

The Afghanistan Cricket Board has not yet announced a replacement for Naveen ul Haq. However, the reserve players for the T20 World Cup include spinner AM Ghazanfar, Ejaz Ahmadzai, and fast bowler Zia ur Rahman Sharifi.

The cricket website added that the exact nature of Naveen ul Haq’s injury has not been disclosed so far.

It is worth noting that the ICC T20 World Cup will begin on 7 February in India. Afghanistan are placed in Group D of the tournament.
