False Social Media Post Targeting Babar Azam Exposed

After the tragic Pahalgam incident, the Indian government has reportedly taken strict steps on social media, including blocking the Instagram accounts of Pakistani cricketers like captain Mohammad Rizwan and star batter Babar Azam.

Shortly after these blocks, a fake Instagram story began to spread, wrongly claiming that Babar Azam blamed the Pakistan Army for the incident. The false post included made-up quotes saying Babar considered India his “second home” and that he criticized the Pakistani military. However, it was quickly proven that this post was fake and not shared by Babar.

These false rumors were widely circulated on social media and picked up by some media outlets, but later exposed as part of a propaganda attempt. The goal seemed to be to create confusion and lower the morale of Pakistani supporters by spreading misinformation.

Earlier, India had also blocked YouTube channels and social media pages of former Pakistani cricketers like Shahid Afridi, Shoaib Akhtar, Rashid Latif, and others including Wasim Akram, Shadab Khan, and Naseem Shah.
