Lahore – The third edition of the Ghani Royal T20 Tournament, organized by the Ghani Institute of Cricket, will kick off tomorrow, Saturday, August 23, featuring eight participating teams.

Former Pakistan cricketer Usman Qadir, along with several other national and international stars, will be in action. A total of PKR 7 million in prize money will be distributed.

Three matches are scheduled daily, with the semi-finals on Tuesday, August 27, and the final on Wednesday, August 28. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi will attend the opening ceremony.

According to Salman Butt, the tournament—traditionally held in Ramadan—was rescheduled due to the PCB calendar. He highlighted that several young players who once shone in this event are now representing Pakistan at the national and ‘A’ team levels.

This year’s edition will also feature Punjabi commentary, international-level broadcasting, and a new rule awarding eight runs for shots landing on nearby rooftops. Teams will name 12 players, including a special “Gold Arm,” who can bowl two overs at any point in the innings.

Butt added that if star batter Babar Azam joins the tournament, it would be a huge boost and honor.
