India beat Zimbabwe to keep semi final hopes alive in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026

India defeated Zimbabwe in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, keeping its chances of reaching the semi finals alive.In a crucial Super Eight Group 1 match played in Chennai, Zimbabwe won the toss and invited India to bat first. Batting first, India posted 256 runs for the loss of four wickets.

All Indian batters scored at a rapid pace. Abhishek Sharma made 55, Hardik Pandya remained unbeaten on 50, Tilak Varma stayed not out on 44, Ishan Kishan scored 38, captain Suryakumar Yadav added 33, and Sanju Samson contributed 24 runs.

For Zimbabwe, captain Sikandar Raza, Blessing Muzarabani, and other bowlers claimed one wicket each.While chasing the massive target, Zimbabwe’s batting struggled. However, opener Brian Bennett played an outstanding unbeaten innings of 97 runs. Apart from him, Sikandar Raza scored 31 and Tadiwanashe Marumani made 20.

For India, Arshdeep Singh took three wickets, while Shivam Dube, Axar Patel, and Varun Chakravarthy picked up one wicket each.

Hardik Pandya was named Player of the Match.With this victory, India’s hopes of qualifying for the semi finals remain alive. Their next match is against West Indies cricket team, and the winner of that game will secure a place in the semi finals.
