Sri Lankan cricketer Kusal Mendis, who left the 10th season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) for more money, played poorly in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and caused his team, Gujarat Titans, to be knocked out of the tournament.
Mendis had refused to return to the PSL due to tensions between India and Pakistan. Instead, he joined Gujarat Titans as a replacement for England’s Jos Buttler. But in his very first match, he made big mistakes that led to his team’s defeat.
In the eliminator match against Mumbai Indians, Mendis dropped two easy catches—one of Rohit Sharma, who later scored 81 runs, and another of Suryakumar Yadav. These mistakes helped Mumbai win the match.Mendis also failed while batting. He was bowled out while trying to play a sweep shot against Mitchell Santner and didn’t score any runs.

Earlier, Mendis was part of the Quetta Gladiators in PSL Season 10. His decision to leave PSL for IPL didn’t go well, as he struggled badly and his team couldn’t make it to the final.
