Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has instructed officials to finalize the new agreements with Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchises as soon as possible.Preparations for the new 10-year PSL franchise agreements have entered their final phase.
As the previous 10-year contracts have ended, work is now underway to establish new agreements.In this regard, representatives of the PSL’s chartered firm met with PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi.
PSL Chief Executive Officer Salman Naseer and COO Sameer Syed were also present at the meeting.During the meeting, the valuation firm presented the PSL valuation report to Mohsin Naqvi.
The PCB Chairman raised several questions regarding the report and directed the chartered firm to meet with all PSL franchises.Mohsin Naqvi instructed that the new franchise agreements should be completed swiftly, emphasizing that they will be based on the valuation report. The chartered firm will determine the updated market value of each franchise.
The contracts of six existing PSL franchises are set to expire in December, and the total number of PSL teams will increase from six to eight.According to the PCB, new agreements will only be made with eligible franchises.
