Pakistani fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi has set a world record in ODI cricket.In the first One-Day International match against the West Indies at the Brian Lara Stadium, Pakistan won the toss and elected to bowl and restricted the West Indies to 280 runs in the allotted 50 overs. For the hosts, Evin Lewis, captain Shai Hope and Roston Chase scored half-centuries. For Pakistan, Shaheen Afridi took 4 wickets for 51 runs while Naseem Shah took 3 wickets for 55 runs.Shaheen Shah Afridi took 4 wickets in this match to complete 131 wickets in just 65 ODI matches, becoming the first bowler in the world to achieve this feat. Earlier, this record was held by Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan, who took 128 wickets in 65 matches.

Chasing the target, Pakistan put up a brilliant batting display and won the match by scoring 284 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 48.5 overs. Hassan Nawaz played an unbeaten innings of 63 runs, which included a six and a decisive four, while captain Muhammad Rizwan scored 53 runs.With the win in the first ODI, Pakistan took a 0-1 lead in the three-match series. The second match will be played on Sunday and the third and final match on Tuesday at the Brian Lara Stadium.
