A video has been released showing controversial ICC match referee Andy Pycroft apologizing to the Pakistan cricket team’s manager and captain during the Asia Cup.According to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Pycroft expressed regret to both the team manager and skipper following his controversial conduct.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has also summoned former chairmen Ramiz Raja and Najam Sethi for consultations on the matter.The controversy began when Pycroft stopped the captains of India and Pakistan from shaking hands before their match, a move that drew strong criticism from the PCB.
Pycroft later described the incident on September 14 as a “miscommunication” and apologized for his actions.
Meanwhile, the ICC has confirmed its willingness to investigate the code of conduct violation that occurred during the September 14 fixture.
