Former captain Wasim Akram’s statue at the Niaz Stadium in Hyderabad has sparked a backlash. On social networking site X (Twitter), Wasim Akram shared a picture of a leopard statue alongside his statue and wrote, “Of course my statue is better than this leopard.”He said that there is a lot of talk about my statue installed at Niaz Stadium, Hyderabad.

I think the idea is more important. The former captain said that the sculptor should be given credit for this effort and that he should give full marks to everyone involved. It should be noted that the statue of Pakistan’s legendary fast bowler Wasim Akram, known as the Sultan of Swing, was recently installed outside the stadium, but fans severely criticized the high-ranking officials for the statue of the fast bowler.

The statue depicts the left-arm fast bowler in his trademark bowling style, wearing the jersey used by Pakistan in the 1999 World Cup.Wasim, who represented Pakistan from 1984 to 2003, has taken the most wickets in Test format with 414 and in ODI format with 502.
