Australian bowler John Hastings has been approached by anti-corruption officials after bowling 10 wides in a single over against Pakistan in the World Championship of Legends.In the match, Hastings delivered an 18-ball over, which included 10 wides, 2 no-balls, and cost 20 runs. He bowled two sets of five wides in a row. Pakistan Champions went on to win the match by 10 wickets.
Hastings revealed in an interview that anti-corruption officers questioned him about the over. They asked if he had missed the pitch intentionally, but he denied any wrongdoing, saying he had not played for seven years and was not corrupt.

He admitted the incident was embarrassing and upsetting, receiving over a million messages on social media, which led him to stay offline for three days. Hastings said he even threw a retirement party after the match.
The former Australian pacer has been part of retired players’ leagues since 2022.
