The match, played in Dubai, saw Bangladesh opt to field first after winning the toss. Sri Lanka managed 168 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their 20 overs. Saif Hassan (61) and Towhid Hridoy (58) played outstanding innings to put Bangladesh in control.
In the final over, Bangladesh required 5 runs. Zakir Ali hit a boundary off the first ball to level the scores, but Dasun Shanaka picked up 2 wickets in the next three deliveries, taking the game down to the wire. However, Bangladesh eventually sealed the win.
