Defending champions Pakistan have decided against participating in the upcoming Over-50 Cricket World Cup 2027, scheduled to be held in Hyderabad Deccan, India, from January 23 to February 7, 2027.
Pakistan Veterans Cricket Association (PVCA) Chairman Fawad Ijaz Khan confirmed that the decision was made after failing to obtain the requisite clearance from the government. Stating that the association fully respects the government’s stance, Khan revealed that Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi formally conveyed the decision withholding permission for the team to travel. Pakistan had previously captured the Over-50 World Cup crown during the 2025 edition held in Sri Lanka.
