Islamabad United have appointed Luke Ronchi as the new head coach of the team. Ronchi has previously represented Islamabad United as a player as well.
The PSL franchise Islamabad United confirmed the appointment of Luke Ronchi as their new head coach.
Islamabad United owner Ali Naqvi said that Ronchi has always been an integral part of the Islamabad United family and understands the team environment and culture very well which is why he was chosen for the role of head coach.
Luke Ronchi said on being appointed head coach that Islamabad United has always felt like home to him and returning as head coach is an honor. He added that he is excited to work with the team’s young players.
According to Islamabad United management appointing a former player as head coach is part of the franchise policy to maintain continuity and team identity.
Luke Ronchi has previously represented Islamabad United in the PSL.
Along with his PSL experience Luke Ronchi also brings international coaching exposure having worked within New Zealand’s coaching setup.
