A major financial irregularity has surfaced within the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB), with reports revealing that the organization’s accounts have not been audited for the past 15 years.

The Auditor General of Pakistan (AGP), in its annual audit report, has highlighted several serious financial discrepancies in the management of the Pakistan Sports Board.

According to the report, PSB failed to prepare financial statements from the 2009-10 fiscal year all the way through 2024-25, raising serious concerns over transparency and financial accountability within the institution.

The audit report further revealed that the Pakistan Sports Board did not comply with Treasury Single Account regulations. Under the Public Finance Management Act 2019, all government funds are legally required to be maintained under the Treasury Single Account system.

However, despite the legal requirement, PSB reportedly continued operating a separate bank account instead of following the mandatory financial framework.

As per the audit findings, the balance in the Pakistan Sports Board’s bank account stood at Rs 32,090,591 as of June 30, 2025, adding further scrutiny to the organization’s financial operations.
