Sahibzada Farhan is expected to continue leading Pakistan in the upcoming three-match T20I home series against Sri Lanka, following the national team’s silver-medal finish at the Asian Games 2026.
With the Asian Games contingent scheduled to return home on Monday, selected players for the Sri Lanka series will report directly to Islamabad. According to insider sources, team management is considering resting or omitting several members from the recent squad—including Ahmed Daniyal, Saad Masood, Haider Ali, and Mohammad Wasim Jnr—while seasoned internationals Babar Azam, Shadab Khan, Naseem Shah, and Fakhar Zaman are in line for recalls. Despite potential squad changes, Farhan is heavily favored to retain his leadership role for the series, which is set to be played in Rawalpindi on October 9, 11, and 13.
