Sri Lanka head coach and former South African Test cricketer Gary Kirsten took time out from his team’s tour schedule to go mountain biking across Islamabad’s Margalla Hills, soaking in the scenic landscapes.
Expressing gratitude for being granted permission to cycle, Kirsten called mountain biking his favorite hobby, noting that it offers a unique and intimate way to experience a country’s natural beauty. He praised the stunning Margalla terrain, calling the ride a truly pleasant experience. An early riser who usually wraps up his rides between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM, the former Proteas opener also lauded Pakistan’s mountains—particularly those in the northern regions—mentioning that he would eagerly seize the chance to visit the north if given a day or two of free time.
