The Pakistan Cricket Board is expected to make significant changes to its central contracts following the national team’s disappointing performance in England. The revised Central contracts are likely to be announced after the upcoming home series, with players’ performances and availability under close scrutiny.
According to reports, Mohammad Rizwan and Shan Masood could also be affected by the proposed changes, while participation in foreign T20 leagues remains a key concern for the board.
Expected Salary and Contract Changes
The reported financial details of the proposed changes include:
- Category A: Annual salary of approximately Rs 4.5 million per month, with additional match fees and bonuses.
- Category B: Monthly salary of around Rs 3 million.
- Category C: Monthly salary of approximately Rs 2 million.
- Category D: Monthly salary of around Rs 1.1 million.
The report also discusses possible changes to match fees, bonuses and financial incentives for players in different contract categories. However, these figures and the proposed revisions have not been officially confirmed by the PCB.
The board is expected to place greater emphasis on performance, fitness, availability and commitment to the national team. Players’ participation in overseas leagues may also be reviewed as part of the new contract policy.
The revised contracts are expected to cover the period from July 2026 to June 2027. The final list of players, salary structure and contract terms will depend on the PCB’s official decision.
