Former Pakistan captain and Quetta Gladiators team director Sarfaraz Ahmed has broken his silence on the news of his retirement from professional cricket.
Speaking to a local sports outlet, former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed said that he has not made any official announcement regarding his retirement. He last represented Pakistan in December 2023.
Sarfaraz clarified that he has not yet decided to retire and will take this step only when he personally feels the time is right. He said that it is very difficult for a professional cricketer to stay away from the game.
The former captain said that when someone has played cricket their whole life, it is obviously painful to be away from the game. There comes a time when every player has to step away, but I try to make the most of every match I get.
Despite being overlooked in the PSL 10 draft, he said that he has not given up hope of returning to professional cricket. He still wants to keep some hope alive that maybe I will get another chance.
