Cricket Australia’s Chief Executive, Todd Greenberg, has announced that Pakistani players have been cleared to participate in the Big Bash League (BBL).
Todd Greenberg stated that the decision was confirmed last week, and expressed excitement over the inclusion of talented Pakistani players in the tournament. “We’re thrilled to have some of Pakistan’s best cricketers playing in the BBL this season,” he said.He added that Cricket Australia is eagerly looking forward to seeing Pakistani players in action this season.
Meanwhile, the Sydney Sixers have announced a special fan zone to welcome Babar Azam.
It is important to note that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had earlier decided to temporarily hold the issuance of No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for national players participating in international leagues. However, players who already had valid NOCs were allowed to take part in the BBL. Cricket Australia also held discussions with the PCB regarding the matter.
Prominent Pakistani cricketers including Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Shaheen Afridi, Hasan Ali, Haris Rauf, Shadab Khan, and Hassan Khan have signed contracts to play in the upcoming BBL season.
