Ahead of the new Big Bash League (BBL) season, the Sydney Sixers have announced the creation of a special fan zone to welcome Pakistan’s star batter Babar Azam.
On the team’s official Facebook page, the Sixers revealed their unique plan to greet Babar, announcing a special area called “Babaristan.”
The post stated, “Presenting a special fan zone Babaristan!” It further added, “Through Babaristan, we’re bringing cricket culture to life in a unique way. This brand-new Sixers fan zone is dedicated to welcoming one of the greatest cricketers in the world — Babar Azam.”
The Sydney Sixers have invited fans to join the celebration on December 17, the day Babar Azam is set to make his BBL debut for the Sixers against the Adelaide Strikers.
The 15th edition of the Big Bash League will be played from December 14, 2025, to January 25, 2026, featuring 44 matches. The opening match will take place at the Perth Stadium, where Perth Scorchers will face the Sydney Sixers.
