Asked to bat first, Lahore Qalandars were bowled out for just 129 in the 20th over. Sikandar Raza was the only notable contributor, while four wickets fell for just six runs as Fakhar Zaman, Asif Ali, Abdullah Shafique, and Daryl Mitchell were dismissed in quick succession.

In a post-match analysis, Tanvir sarcastically commented, “Credit goes to the scientist who sent Asif Ali to open.” He pointed out that Asif, typically a lower-middle-order batter and power hitter, was not suited for the opener role. Tanvir explained that Ali has always been a finisher for the national team, not an opener.

Tanvir also criticized Ali’s technique, stating, “He has no technique. He just swings his bat.” He noted that Ali’s inability to handle the new ball, especially against quality fast bowlers, was evident when he was dismissed, showing he wasn’t prepared for the challenge.
