Sri Lanka Women cruised into the final of the Asian Games women’s cricket competition in Japan after handing Pakistan Women an emphatic eight-wicket defeat in Nagoya.
Batting first, Pakistan posted a competitive total of 177 for four in their allotted overs. However, the target proved insufficient against a clinical Sri Lankan batting masterclass.
In reply, Sri Lanka dismantled the target with ease, reaching 181 for two in 17.5 overs to seal a one-sided victory. Skipper Chamari Athapaththu spearheaded the chase with an imperious, unbeaten 83, while Hasini Perera provided excellent support with a well-crafted 42 to power their side into the tournament decider.
