Speaking at a press conference at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, aggressive opening batter Fakhar Zaman stated that the national team is implementing several new strategies in white-ball cricket, though specific tactical plans will remain closely guarded.

Zaman emphasized that the squad’s primary focus is firmly set on the upcoming World Cup, acknowledging their collective drive to break a prolonged drought of major tournament victories following several semi-final and final exits. He noted that the upcoming ODI tri-series against England and Sri Lanka will be instrumental in finalizing the team’s core combination.

The left-hander, who identified ODIs as his favorite format, also highlighted the physical and mental benefits of recently participating in domestic red-ball cricket. He remarked that enduring grueling first-class sessions—such as fielding for 150 overs—builds endurance and makes the transition to 50-over cricket feel noticeably easier, despite the stark contrast in pressure between the domestic and international stages. Acknowledging the high expectations of fans, Zaman added that while every player strives to deliver, consistent daily performances are challenging in international cricket.
