Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan found himself at the center of intense online controversy after sharing footage of a traditional dinner hosted by Afghanistan star spinner Rashid Khan at his residence in Dubai.
Rashid Khan hosted Irfan Pathan and his brother Yusuf Pathan for a traditional Afghan meal, prompting Irfan to post a video on social media praising the hospitality and cuisine prepared by Rashid and his wife, Lailuma. In his caption, Irfan lauded the incredible feast, highlighting the distinct flavor of every dish as well as the warmth and love shown by their hosts, adding affectionately that he was still thinking about the meal. However, the video quickly went viral and triggered heavy trolling and harsh criticism from extremist Indian social media users, who targeted the former all-rounder over allegations of beef consumption at the gathering.
