Wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan found himself back in the headlines following a lengthy appearance before the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) in Lahore.
The national cricketer spent approximately three and a half hours undergoing questioning by a four-member investigative team as part of the ongoing inquiry surrounding his digital devices and financial transactions. Despite the high-stakes legal and administrative pressure, Rizwan maintained a relaxed demeanor, exiting the offices with a smile.
In a lighthearted moment that quickly captured social media attention, Rizwan engaged with fans outside the facility, playfully handing a supporter’s mobile phone to a cameraman to pose for a picture while making sure the fan got their phone safely back.
When cornered by journalists pressing for details on whether his phone had been returned or what transpired during the closed-door session, Rizwan offered a witty deflection. Quip-heavy and smiling, he remarked, “I am mute right now,” before playfully adding that he was hungry and needed to leave, while noting that he received “a lot of love” inside the NCCIA.
Legal proceedings continue to move forward concurrently, with the Lahore High Court having previously directed the agency not to unnecessarily harass the player, even as Rizwan persistently seeks formal written clarity regarding the exact nature of the allegations.
