The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (HMC) have finalized a landmark 20-year agreement transferring full administrative and operational control of the historic Niaz Stadium to the national cricket board. While the HMC retains legal ownership of the property, the PCB will assume comprehensive management duties and spearhead extensive redevelopment to bring the venue up to international standards—including revamping the pitch, outfield, floodlights, dressing rooms, spectator enclosures, hospitality boxes, and parking facilities.
Under the financial terms of the pact, the PCB will pay a monthly rent of PKR 10,000 to the municipal corporation, disbursed annually in advance, in addition to sharing 20 percent of net profits generated from gate receipts of ticketed matches. In return, the PCB secures all commercial, sponsorship, advertising, broadcasting, and parking rights, alongside the prerogative to stage international fixtures, first-class matches, and Pakistan Super League (PSL) encounters or sub-license stadium assets to franchises and third parties.
