Star batter Virat Kohli has informed the BCCI of his interest in retiring from Test cricket, sources reveal. Though he is expected to be part of India’s squad for the upcoming five-match Test series in England starting June 20, Kohli has reportedly been in talks with board officials for over a month regarding stepping away from the format.
If he follows through, Kohli will end a legendary 14-year Test career that includes over 9200 runs in 123 matches. Despite a recent dip in form, the team management still values his experience—especially with India preparing to play under a new Test captain, likely Shubman Gill.
