The International Cricket Council (ICC) has imposed a 30% fine on Pakistan’s fast bowler Haris Rauf.According to a cricket website, Haris Rauf was found guilty of breaching the ICC Code of Conduct during the Asia Cup Super Four stage match against India.

ICC match referee Richie Richardson announced the penalty of deducting 30% of Rauf’s match fee.Following a complaint from the Indian board, the case was heard by match referee Richie Richardson, where Pakistani cricketers Haris Rauf and Sahibzada Farhan appeared under the ICC Code of Conduct proceedings.

Meanwhile, ICC held Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav responsible as well.Sources said the referee asked the players several questions, while the cricketers also submitted written responses. Both defended their stance strongly before the referee.

Sahibzada Farhan denied the allegations, clarifying that his celebration was not political, nor directed against India, but rather a cultural tradition of Pashtuns.Haris Rauf was questioned about his “0-6” gesture. In response, he objected to the allegations and asked the referee to explain what meaning they inferred from it. Richardson reportedly remained silent when Rauf pressed further.

When asked why he repeated the gesture multiple times, Haris replied that it was meant for the fans only and had no other intent.According to sources, there was no solid evidence to support the accusations. Rauf maintained the same stance in his written reply.

As for Sahibzada Farhan, he was spared any monetary fine and only issued a warning.
