Pakistan international stars Mohammad Rizwan and Imam-ul-Haq have been ruled out of the upcoming President’s Trophy Grade One domestic tournament after failing to satisfy mandatory fitness protocols.
According to sources, neither cricketer submitted the required fitness assessment reports to their respective departmental teams. Under Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) regulations, players must successfully clear official fitness examinations and lodge certified documentation through their departmental sides to be eligible for first-class fixtures. Due to the lack of compliant fitness filings, both players have been deemed ineligible for the opening fixtures.
The ruling deals an immediate tactical blow to their departmental setups. Rizwan, serving as vice-captain for Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL), was scheduled to lead the side in their opening match against State Bank tomorrow in the absence of regular skipper Shan Masood. Similarly, Imam-ul-Haq was slated to captain the Oil and Gas Development Company (OGDC) outfit in their opening round clash against Pakistan Television (PTV).
This domestic exclusion compounds a tense period for both senior cricketers, following their sudden recall from Pakistan’s ongoing tour of England. Both players currently remain under official scrutiny, with investigations actively underway, including forensic examinations of their mobile devices.
