Bangladesh national cricket team ended the fourth day of the Dhaka Test in a strong position, reaching 152 for 3 in their second innings and building a 179 run lead over Pakistan national cricket team.
Starting the day at 7 without loss in Dhaka, Bangladesh lost Mahmudul Hasan Joy for 15 after he was dismissed by Mohammad Abbas. Soon after, Shadman Islam departed for 10, giving Hasan Ali his wicket.
Mominul Haque and Najmul Hossain Shanto then put together a crucial 105 run stand before Shaheen Afridi removed Mominul for 56.
At close of play, Shanto was unbeaten on 58 and Mushfiqur Rahim was batting on 16, with Bangladesh firmly in control.
Earlier, Bangladesh posted 413 in their first innings thanks to centuries and key contributions from Shanto, Mominul, and Mushfiqur Rahim. Pakistan’s Mohammad Abbas took five wickets in a strong bowling display.
Pakistan responded with 386 runs, trailing by 27 after the first innings. Azan Awais led the batting effort with a century, while Abdullah Fazal, Mohammad Rizwan, and Salman Ali Agha also made valuable contributions.
Bangladesh spinner Mehidy Hasan Miraz impressed with five wickets, while Taskin Ahmed and Taijul Islam chipped in with two each.
