Pakistan Women suffered a second straight defeat in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, falling to South Africa by 2 wickets in a thrilling contest in Birmingham.

Despite a fighting knock from captain Fatima Sana, who smashed 55 off 38 balls, Pakistan struggled badly with the bat and poor running between the wickets led to four run-outs, restricting them to 126/9.

Pakistan bowlers fought back brilliantly, reducing South Africa to 107/6, but crucial innings from Anneke Bosch Dercksen (52) and Nadine de Klerk (37) helped South Africa chase the target in 17 overs.

Pakistan now face Bangladesh in a must-win clash after also losing their opening game against India.
