Speaking in a special PCB program, the premier batter reflected deeply on his previous leadership stints, acknowledging them as vital learning phases. “Leading Pakistan is a perpetual honor. Over time, captaincy brings a natural maturity and clarity. I have carefully reviewed my past decisions, analyzed the outcomes, and used those experiences to grow as a leader,” Babar shared.
Addressing ongoing debates surrounding his batting approach, the skipper clarified that his style is entirely fluid and dictated by the team’s situational requirements. He explained that if the match dynamics demand quick scoring, he adapts to an aggressive role, whereas he shifts to a defensive anchor when stability is required. Babar also welcomed constructive criticism, stating that he actively filters out the noise to focus on valuable feedback that can improve the team’s output.
A core focus for Babar’s third tenure is nurturing the squad’s younger talent under the immense pressure of international cricket. He emphasized his commitment to communicating closely with junior players to alleviate match-day anxiety.
