Bangladesh secured a convincing 104-run victory over Pakistan in the Dhaka Test, taking a 1-0 advantage in the two-match series.
Chasing 268 runs for victory, Pakistan’s batting lineup struggled under pressure and was eventually dismissed for 163.
Pakistan suffered an early setback with Imam-ul-Haq departing for just 2 runs. Azan Awais added 15 before getting out, while captain Shan Masood failed to make an impact with only 2 runs to his name.
Abdullah Fazal showed resistance with a fighting 66-run knock, and Salman Ali Agha contributed 26, but the middle and lower order collapsed quickly. Saud Shakeel and Mohammad Rizwan managed 15 runs each before Pakistan’s innings ended shortly after.
Bangladesh’s bowling attack was led brilliantly by Nahid Rana, who claimed five wickets. Taskin Ahmed and Taijul Islam provided strong support with two wickets each, while Mehidy Hasan Miraz added one scalp.
Earlier in the match, Bangladesh declared their second innings at 240 for 9, extending their overall lead and setting Pakistan a challenging target.
Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto played a key role with an impressive 87-run innings, while Mominul Haque added 56 valuable runs.
For Pakistan, Hasan Ali and Noman Ali took three wickets apiece, while Shaheen Shah Afridi grabbed two and Mohammad Abbas chipped in with one wicket.
