West Indies and South Africa secured impressive wins in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, defeating Sri Lanka and India respectively.

At Bristol, Sri Lanka struggled with the bat and were bowled out for just 98 runs. Nilakshi de Silva stood out with 30 runs, but the rest of the batting lineup failed to build momentum. West Indies captain Hayley Matthews led brilliantly with a three-wicket spell.

In reply, West Indies comfortably chased down the target in 16.1 overs despite losing five wickets, with Stafanie Taylor contributing the highest score of 27 runs.

Meanwhile, in the day’s second encounter, South Africa outclassed India by six wickets. India posted 158 for 7, with Shafali Verma scoring 31 and Deepti Sharma adding 29.

South Africa chased the target in fine fashion, thanks to a match-winning unbeaten 81-run knock from Marizanne Kapp, while Tazmin Brits supported with 40 runs.
