Young Indian cricketer Vaibhav Suryavanshi etched his name into the record books by smashing the fastest fifty in List A cricket history during the Tri-Nation Series final in Dambulla.

The 15-year-old batting sensation reached his half-century in an astonishing 11 balls against Sri Lanka A, breaking the previous world record.

Suryavanshi continued his explosive innings and was eventually dismissed after scoring a remarkable 94 runs from just 29 deliveries.

The previous record belonged to Sri Lankan cricketer Kaushalya Weeraratne, who had scored a 50 in 12 balls in 2005. With this innings, Vaibhav Suryavanshi has now become the new world record holder in List A cricket.
