The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is searching for a new permanent head coach after interim coach Aaqib Javed chose not to continue. His contract ended following Pakistan’s poor performance in the Champions Trophy earlier this year. Reports say Mike Hesson, former Cricket Director of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), is the strong candidate for this job.

Hesson, who is now coaching Islamabad United in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), helped them win the title last season. His experience in both international and league cricket makes him a strong choice. PCB has already reached out for odi and T20 coaching role, along with some other foreign coaches, like Australian Simon Katich and New Zealand’s batting coach Luke Ronchi.Talks are ongoing with local coaches for the position of red-ball head coach.
