Pakistan women’s national cricket team captain Fatima Sana has officially signed with the Perth Scorchers, securing her maiden stint in the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL).
The historic signing makes Sana only the second Pakistani woman to feature in Australia’s premier franchise league, following former national skipper Nida Dar. The breakthrough continues a landmark year for the 24-year-old all-rounder, who also became the first Pakistani female cricketer to play in England’s The Hundred and the Canada Super 60 tournament. The upcoming season of the Women’s Big Bash League is scheduled to commence on October 29.
